Herbal Medicine from Garden to Bottle – an introduction to traditional medicine-making techniques
It’s a little-known fact nowadays but until about a century ago many medicinal extracts prescribed by physicians (i.e. doctors) were made from medicinal plants. Herbalists continue to use these methods to extract and preserve the medicinal properties of plants.
Many of these extracts are safe and easy to make at home. Qualified Herbalist Vivienne Campbell will present an over-view of some of the most common techniques including tincture-making, syrup-making, infusions, poultices, ointments and more.
