Bus Access to Loughrea

Ireland’s national bus service, Bus Eireann www.buseireann.ie and City Link Bus www.citylink.ie have a drop off and pick-up service in the centre of Loughrea town. There are two bus stops on the Main Street, outside Beattys Jewellers on the Main Street when travelling from the East of Ireland, and outside Supermac’s on the Main Street when travelling from the West.

Road Access to Loughrea

M6 There are excellent motorway links from Connemara and Galway City in the West, and Athlone and Dublin City in the East via the M6 motorway and the N65 Loughrea Link Road.

N18 Approaching Loughrea from Shannon Airport, Clare, Limerick, Kerry Cork, Waterford or Tipperary in the East – from the N18 Ennis Road turn right onto the N66 Loughrea Road in Gort.

Parking in Loughrea

Loughrea is well served with three car parks as well as additional on-street parking. The car parks are located on Main Street, Barrack Street, and Station Road.

Pay and Display parking is in operation throughout the medieval town of Loughrea during business hours. It requires you to pay on arrival for the maximum length of time you anticipate staying in the car park, and display the ticket in the windscreen of your vehicle.

Motorists are advised to check street signage when parking to verify pay and/or permit parking requirements for that area, and avoid parking fines. Tickets shall be at the rate of; 70c per hour, or €3 per day.
